Access to Basic Healthcare

American Red Cross Adult Dental Clinic – $21,810
To enroll 50 eligible Norfolk patients into its new Completion of Care Program who will receive a dental evaluation, oral health treatment plan, and necessary dental treatment.

Beach Health Clinic, Inc.
– $24,460
To help develop on-site pharmacy services, education and dispensing of donated medications.

Chesapeake Care, Inc. – $40,000
To provide staff support and supplies for the volunteer based dental program at Chesapeake Care.

Child & Family Services of Eastern Virginia – $25,000
To provide access to medical services and prescription drugs combined with counseling for referred clients with mental health issues.

ForKids, Inc. – $20,000
To provide women and children with access to healthcare resources during the first six weeks of homeless shelter assistance.

H.E.L.P. Inc. – $22,500
To increase the hours of pharmacy and pharmacists to accommodate increasing numbers of clinic patients and prescriptions.

Mary Buckley Foundation, Inc.
– $10,000
To provide a social program that will assist traumatic brain injury survivors in social skills and developmental improvement in a safe and fun environment.

Norfolk Community Services Board $23,000
To fund a mental health service worker who will provide home-based care for Norfolk individuals as they begin the reintegration process into society.

Portsmouth Community Health Center, Inc.  $35,000
To help provide pharmacy technicians to assist indigent, homeless and frail/elderly patients, who do not qualify for Medicare Part D, obtain medications as part of their physician’s treatment plan.

Response Sexual Assault Support Services of the YWCA $5,000
To provide crisis counseling and support to sexual assault victims who enter the emergency room for physical and/or mental health services.

Rx Partnership $15,000
To coordinate local connections to statewide programs increasing access to free prescription medications for low-income citizens without insurance.

Seton Youth Shelters $10,000
To provide basic mental health care services through case management and counseling to high-risk teenagers and their families.

The Arc of the Virginia Peninsula, Inc.  – $20,000
To provide therapies and related services to infants and toddlers who have disabilities or are at risk of developing disabilities.

Union Mission Ministries $35,000
To provide healthcare coordination along with dental and vision services to chronically ill and mentally ill homeless men and
women.

Virginia Beach Volunteer Rescue Squad -- $50,000
To support the Great Neck Station Building Campaign.

Western Tidewater Free Clinic $45,000
To provide a Nurse Practitioner and expanded hours of clinical operation.


Coalition Building Initiatives

Access Partnership – $70,000
To facilitate a collaboration of diverse stakeholders who share a common goal of improving access to health services to the underinsured and uninsured residents of Greater Hampton Roads Communities.

Oral Health Improvement Coalition – $24,000
To improve the delivery of dental care to all residents of South Hampton Roads through an innovative, collaborative process involving community leaders and oral health stakeholders working to identify and address local oral health issues.


Frail and At-Risk Elderly

Peninsula Agency on Aging (PAA) – $8,000
For the Senior Outreach to Services, a streamlined case management system, and to provide on-site one-on-one case work, primarily with low income elderly living in senior housing complexes.


Pregnancy Outcome Improvement

Chesapeake Health Investment Program (CHIP) – $25,000
To expand its prenatal program by providing a bilingual First Steps Coordinator and provision of translation services to Hispanic clients.

International Black Women’s Congress – $25,000
To deliver the Brighter Tomorrows program that provides early intervention to pregnant teens and monitor prenatal care to prevent premature births.
