The Sentara Health Foundation is a division of Sentara Healthcare dedicated to responding to the healthcare needs of the communities we serve. For over 10 years, the Foundation has provided leadership, resources, and advocacy to ensure quality care for the health of our patients and the health of the community at large. At Sentara, we believe that the people of our communities should have the care they need when they need it—regardless of their ability to pay.
Our Mission
The Foundation is dedicated to responding to community need, not only by considering requests for specific financial funding, but also by proactively identifying needs and opportunities collectively addressed through the efforts of the Foundation. Through our philanthropy initiatives, donors can invest in Sentara programs, services and facilities that may otherwise not receive funding through ongoing operations. Every dollar invested in Sentara is a dollar invested in the current and future vitality of healthcare in the Hampton Roads region. It is through these funding and fund raising programs that the Sentara Health Foundation works to support improving health every day.
