Sentara Health Foundation was established in 1998. The Foundation brings people and resources together to address issues impacting the health and quality of life in the communities it serves.
Sentara Health Foundation is a division of Sentara Healthcare, a 501(c)(3) charitable entity, accepting gifts for all Sentara services.
Mission Statement The Foundation is dedicated to responding to the community's needs, not only by considering requests for specific financial funding, but also by proactively identifying needs and opportunities collectively addressed through the efforts of the Foundation. The Sentara Health Foundation promotes coordination and cooperation among organizations and agencies focusing on the health of the community, encouraging synergism and avoiding duplication.
A primary focus is the identification of health-related problems and unknown needs addressed by integrated solutions. Finally, the Foundation informs the public about the opportunities and solutions that result from the positive changes, achieving mutual goals in a cooperative environment, and building teamwork approaches to community issues.
