For more than a decade, Sentara has become a regular on the U.S. News & World Report annual list of America's top hospitals.
Our exceptional physicians, nurses and clinical teams are to be commended for their expertise in achieving these rankings. This type of clinical excellence should be a major source of comfort and pride for our patients.
For 12 years now, Sentara Heart Hospital has been ranked among the nation’s best heart programs. Listed 47th in the U.S. News & World Report's 2011-12 Best Hospitals, it is the only hospital in Virginia to be ranked among the top 50.
In addition to the national recognitions, U.S. News recently introduced regional rankings. For the Hampton Roads region, four Sentara hospitals are regionally recognized. In addition, Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center in Woodbridge, Virginia, was recognized in the Washington, D.C., metro region rankings.
This newest ranking that analyzes regional geographies of 52 metropolitan areas in the country was designed to help consumers differentiate facilities that may not provide a level of care that is nationally ranked. According to U.S. News & World Report, all providers included in the list demonstrate a strong record of high performance for most conditions and procedures in one or more specialties.
