The Virginia Beach Ambulatory Surgery Center (VBASC) serves as the main outpatient surgery program for Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital surgeons and is a Sentara affiliate. VBASC is a joint venture with Virginia Beach physicians and Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital (SVBGH), as a proprietary partnership governed by a 12-member board of directors and licensed by the Commonwealth of Virginia as an outpatient surgical hospital.
VBASC operates managerially and financially independent of SVBGH and works in collaboration with the SVBGH overall surgery program as an integral part of Sentaras continuum of care.
