The Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital Auxiliary was organized in 1962. Its continuing objective is to render support to Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital and the community it serves. Committees
The Auxiliary’s primary mission is to enhance and supplement the medical care provided by the hospital through donations of equipment and funds, as well as to donate funds to other charitable causes in the community. Since its inception, the Auxiliary has donated more than $2 million. This is accomplished, in part, by generating revenue through various fund raising events and profits from the Auxiliary Gift Shop.
More than 600 civic minded individuals unselfishly volunteer their time and effort throughout the year to bring that to fruition. An Executive Board directs and oversees the many standing committees that are the foundation of the Auxiliary. Each committee uniquely contributes to the overall effectiveness of the group. As such, the Auxiliary will continue to meet each new challenge and to accept each new opportunity to fulfill its purpose.

Membership in the Auxiliary is open to all men and women who support the purpose of the organization. At Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital, the Auxiliary is not a part of the hospital volunteer program. Although many men and women participate in both groups, no Auxilian is ever required to do volunteer work in the Hospital. For that matter, many members of the Auxiliary choose to contribute by only paying dues. This is fine too. The monetary support is greatly appreciated as it enables the continuation of many worthwhile projects.
Regardless of whether you are a contributing or courtesy member, you will stay informed and be able to enjoy programs and news that will keep you up to date on the rapidly changing healthcare field.
Life Membership (one time): $150
