Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital is a 276-bed acute care facility that has a long history of commitment to the city, offering specialized, tertiary services. It is the region’s only Level III Trauma Center and home to the Sentara Heart Center.

In addition, residents have access to the Coastal Cancer Center, Accredited Sleep Disorders Center, Orthopedics, Neurosurgery and Thoracic & Colorectal Surgery. Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital is one of the region’s accredited stroke centers.

On the Move
In April 2013, Sentara Virginia Beach Comprehensive Breast Center will move from its current location inside the hospital to a new office next door at 1080 First Colonial Rd, Suite 100. The new location will allow for easier access for outpatient mammography, designated parking and a full range of breast services, including digital mammography, breast ultrasound, stereotactic breast biopsy, breast MRI and 3D mammography.
