The Family Maternity Center at Sentara Williamsburg Regional Medical Center is committed to providing care to newborns, mothers and families through a multidisciplinary team approach. Full LDRP suites include a private bath, allowing mother and baby to remain in the mother's private room from the onset of labor until time to go home, with everything they need for a safe and comfortable delivery.
The Family Maternity Suite is located on the second floor of the hospital, away from the everyday flow to provide a peaceful, comforting environment for mother and baby alike. Our Family Maternity Center is made up of 13 Labor, Delivery, Recovery and Postpartum Suites (LDRP), 4 private Postpartum suites, a Newborn nursery, an Intermediate Care nursery, a Surgical Suite for cesarean sections, and 3 triage rooms for the evaluation of our pregnant patients.
Comprehensive Education
We offer several classes, support groups, and tours to educate and support new and expecting mothers as well as their families. Our comprehensive education includes:
Lamaze classes
Maternity Center tours
Growth and development, infant care, breastfeeding support groups
New dad classes for expectant fathers
Certified lactation consultants to help with breastfeeding questions or concerns.

Room Service and Nourishment
Our patients experience At Your Request Room Service from 6:30 am until 6:30 pm everyday. This is an excellent service since patients are able to order a variety of meal options during their preferred time frames.
Visitor Information
Visitors are welcome during labor and after the birth. However, for the best care and safety of our new mothers and babies, please follow our maternity visitor guidelines.
