Sentara Family Medicine Physicians are board certified by the American Board of Family Physicians. As board certified family practitioners, these quality doctors are trained to care for a wide variety of medical needs for all members of the family, including adults, adolescents and children. Sentara Family Medicine Physicians are also trained in internal medicine, sports medicine, gynecology, geriatrics, minor surgery and family issues.
They have recently been recognized for their patient care model of delivering high quality care based on evidence-based, nationally recognized clinical standards. The National Committee for Quality Assurance Physician Practice Connections Program—Patient Centered Medical Home (PPC-PCMH) awarded the practice a Level III NCQA recognition—the highest level awarded.
