About Us 

Our Sentara Physical Medicine & Pain Management Specialist physician is certified by the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and the American Board of Independent Medical Examiners. Dr. Matthew Leyton is trained in pain management, electrodiagnosis (EMGs) and spinal injections. We treat everyone from newly injured workers to patients with a chronic history of pain but without a history of injury.

Dr. Leyton provides service to patients of primary care physicians, as well as specialists, including orthopedic surgeons, neurosurgeons, podiatrists, rheumatologists and dermatologists for various subacute and chronic pain conditions. 

Dr. Leyton performs EMG/NCS studies and can administer various injections, including many joint injections. At Physical Medicine Specialist - Bayside, patients also can receive fluoroscopically guided hip injections, epidurals and other fluoroscopically guided injections of the entire spine.

Narcotic pain management can also be prescribed. Dr. Leyton will determine if someone is high risk for addiction or diversion of scheduled drugs.
