Amputee Rehabilitation 

When a patient has sustained an amputation of a limb, a specialized rehabilitation program is required in order for the patient to achieve optimal functional mobility with their new prosthesis. A physical therapist takes the patient through the entire process, including a stretching and strengthening program, education in the proper wear and care of the prosthesis, gait training, and often, higher level or return to sport training, such as running.
