What is it?
The free MyChart App gives you secure and convenient mobile access to many Sentara MyChart online services, from your Android, iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch. The app, called MyChart, is available from the Android Market or iTunes App Store on your smart phone or on your computer.

Why would I use it?
The MyChart App offers true mobility, instant access and optimized convenience. You no longer have to be in front of a traditional desktop or laptop computer to access the benefits of Sentara MyChart. Sentara is committed to becoming a stronger partner in your healthcare, constantly raising the bar for quality and satisfaction in the delivery of healthcare to its patients. This app is part of that pledge to our patients.

How do I get it?
To use the mobile MyChart app, you must first have a Sentara MyChart account. If you do not already have a MyChart account, please ask for your access code at your next doctor visit with Sentara Medical Group. See a list of doctors that offer Sentara MyChart.

The app is free, but you need a smart phone to use it. From one of those devices, go to the Android Market or iTunes App Store and search for “MyChart” and install it. You will click on Sentara as your health care provider.

Alternatively, you can access the Android or iTunes App Store on a desktop or laptop computer, download the app, and install it when the mobile device is synched.

How do I sign up?
Sentara patients who wish to participate will be issued a MyChart activation code during their office visit. This code will enable you to login and create your own login ID and password. If you were not issued an activation code, ask for one during your next office visit with your Sentara Medical Group doctor.

Is it secure?
Yes. To protect your personal information, the app uses the same type of security measures as mobile banking apps.
No sensitive data is stored on the iPhone’s memory.
To access your medical record, you must log-in each time with your unique login ID and password – just as you would from a computer to verify authorization.
To further enhance security, you may enable a passcode for your Apple device that will prompt you each time you turn on or wake up the device that offers protection if you become separated from your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch.
You should always log-out at the end of your session to further protect your personal health information.

Are all the Sentara MyChart Online features available through this mobile app?
Many of the same trusted services you access by computer are available through the app. The first version of this app allows you to:
Send a secure message to your doctor about non-urgent health questions
Check most lab and test results
View appointments
Receive health reminders
Access your health summary, including medications, immunizations and allergies

What Sentara MyChart Online features are not yet available through this mobile app?
The app does not currently allow you to:
Request or schedule an appointment
Renew prescriptions
