Sentara Virginia Beach General Opens Rehab Unit
Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital recently expanded services with the opening of the city’s first inpatient rehabilitation facility. Patients admitted to the hospital in need of 24-hour care and concentrated therapy will benefit from the eight-bed unit, which is led by specially trained physicians and staff.


Port Warwick Advanced Vascular Treatment Center Opens

A Sentara Advanced Vascular Treatment Center debuted at Sentara Port Warwick in Newport News on May 19 offering Hampton Roads residents state-of-the-art rapid assessment and treatment of venous and vascular disease in a convenient, patient-friendly, outpatient setting focused on quality care. Sentara BelleHarbour Phase I Opens in Suffolk
Phase I of Sentara BelleHarbour, a 20-acre outpatient medical campus located in north Suffolk, opened June 2. Phase I unveiled a 75,000- square-foot facility offering: a free-standing, 24-hour Emergency Department, an Advanced Imaging Center and Central Testing and Lab Services. Other services to be added this summer include physical therapy, sports medicine, and a sleep center on June 9, as well as Sentara Family Medicine Physicians – a new name for North Suffolk Family Medicine – which will relocate from Bridge Road on June 16. The facility will bring vital health care services to Suffolk and surrounding communities. Read more information about the opening celebrations in the next issue of Network.

Sentara Norfolk General Acquires Portable CT Unit
Following Certificate of Public Need (COPN) approval, Sentara Norfolk General Hospital has purchased a small, portable computed tomography (CT) scanner from Neurologica that images the head and face. The device may be brought to the bedside of critically ill patients so they do not need to leave the unit for routine follow-up. Sentara Norfolk General is the first hospital in Virginia to own a portable CT unit.

New Sentara Facility Now Open in Williamsburg
Sentara Medical Arts and Urgent Care at New Town is a new, 50,000 sq. ft. facility offering residents access to a variety of Sentara Medical Group physicians and services including primary and urgent care, internal medicine, occupational medicine, pediatrics and adolescent care. Diagnostic imaging services are also available, including ultrasound, mammography, bone density and x-ray. Learn more about the facility and the physicians who practice there and  read a press release about the opening.
