How Do You Improve Health Every Day?

“Student Services at the Sentara College of Health Sciences impacts the health of our students and subsequently protects the health of our patients. We maintain current records on all students to ensure up-to-date immunizations and current TB testing. Faculty in concert with Student Services continually monitors the health status of our students. We observe for conditions that warrant medical clearance to prevent spread of communicable disease and to safely perform in the school and hospital environment. As the Health Records coordinator, I feel that educating the students on aspects of their personal health helps them be more aware of the health of their patients.”

“I improve health everyday by providing a challenging environment of academic and clinical excellence to all students enrolled in the Cardiovascular Technology program at the Sentara College of Health Sciences. My mission is to transform today's cardiovascular student into the type of healthcare professional that makes a difference in the lives of patients' everyday. Providing this type of educational environment means that graduates of the Cardiovascular Technology program are well equipped to provide incomparable care to members of the community in the fight against our nation's leading killer, cardiovascular disease.”
