Norfolk, VA. - Lisa Sands has joined Sentara Health Foundation as an Institutional Advancement Specialist. She is responsible for helping to educate the public regarding Sentara's not-for-profit mission and for increasing charitable donations to Sentara Health Foundation from individuals, businesses, national foundations and other partners in the community.
Prior to joining Sentara, Sands served as executive director of Bon Secours Maryview Foundation. Other positions she held previously include: director of fundraising for the United Way of South Hampton Roads and director of development for the Foodbank of Southeastern Virginia. She is a resident of Suffolk, Virginia.
Sentara Health Foundation was established in 1998 by Sentara Healthcare to further its not-for-profit mission and to identify health-related needs in the community and to address them and enable solutions. The Foundation accepts grant requests from area non-profit organizations demonstrating an ability to make an impact in any of the Foundation's current priorities including: access to basic health care services; programs and services that improve pregnancy outcomes; cardiac health initiatives; and services and programs for the frail and at-risk older Americans.
