Virginia Beach, VA - January 16, 2006
- For the fourth year, Sentara Hospice will offer bereavement support groups with the help of St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church in Virginia Beach. The six-week sessions are open to anyone 18 years of age or older who has suffered the loss of a spouse, a baby or a loved one through sudden death, terminal illness, suicide or accident.
"Grief comes in many forms," says Rev. Roger Gauthier, bereavement services coordinator for Sentara Home Care. "Many people find comfort with others who have lost someone as they have," Gauthier continues. "These sessions offer a safe place to share those feelings or just reflect."
The six-week sessions will be held on Tuesdays from 7:00pm-8:30pm at Marian Manors Terrace Room. Marian Manor is behind St. Gregory the Great church on Virginia Beach Boulevard across from Haynes Furniture in Virginia Beach.
"There is no affiliation with Sentara Hospice required," Gauthier adds. "It's a come-as-you-are proposition. There's no cost, no obligation to speak and you can leave when you need to."
The support groups begin on the following Tuesdays and each runs for six weeks.
Please RSVP at 549-5652 or 497-8330. Leave your name, phone number and session start date. You will not be called back unless something changes. Just come to the first session of the series you select. 5/2006
