Norfolk, Va. - March 15, 2006 - The community is invited to attend an open house on Saturday, March 25 from 1 to 3 p.m. at Sentara Heart Hospital the regions only dedicated heart hospitallocated on the campus of Sentara Norfolk General Hospital, 600 Gresham Drive, Norfolk.
A host of activities and events will be held during the open house including cholesterol and blood pressure screenings for adults, healthy cooking demonstrations, and chair massages. Tours of the state-of-the-art 324,000 square foot facility will also be conducted.
Children's events include safety fingerprinting conducted by the Norfolk Sheriffs Office, art therapy by Virginia Beach School for the Arts, games and more. Nightingale air ambulance will be on display and refreshments will be provided.
Devoted to cardiac care, the new 6-story, $94.5 million Sentara Heart Hospital enables patients seeking heart care to receive comprehensive servicesfrom diagnostics and interventional cardiology to open-heart surgery and transplantationall under one roof. Sentara Heart Hospital features all private rooms, including 112 licensed inpatient beds and 45 pre/post procedural rooms dedicated to patients undergoing interventional cardiac procedures.
