Virginia Beach, Va. – January 22, 2007 – James Daniel Dillon, Jr., M.D., F.A.C.S., is the newest member of
Neurosurgery at the Beach, a Sentara Medical Group practice, located at 1080 First Colonial Road, Suite 400, Virginia Beach, Va.
Dr. Dillon earned his medical degree from Vanderbilt University School of Medicine in Nashville, Tenn., in 1972 after receiving his bachelor’s degree from Vanderbilt University in 1968. He completed his internship and residency at Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville in 1973 and 1977, respectively. Dr. Dillon is Diplomate of the American Board of Neurological Surgery and the National Board of Medical Examiners.
Dr. Dillon’s professional experience includes his service in the United State Navy in the Department of Neurosurgery at Portsmouth Naval Hospital, in Portsmouth, Va., from 1977-79. He also served active duty in the United States Army from 1980-82, then continued as director of the Vietnam Head Injury Study in the Department of Clinic Investigation at Walter Reed Army Medical Center, in Washington, D.C., from 1981-82 where he was a member of the Staff Department of Neurosurgery.
Since 1982, Dr. Dillon has been practicing medicine in the private sector. Dr. Dillon is a member of the Meacham Neurosurgical Society, the American College of Surgeons, the American Association of Neurological Surgeons, the Congress of Neurological Surgeons, and the American Medical Association.
He and his wife, Brenda, reside in Virginia Beach.
