March 28, 2007 – Vanessa A. Blowe, M.D., F.A.A.F.P., is the newest member of
IntraCoastal Family Practice, a Sentara Medical Group practice, located at 633 South Battlefield Blvd., Ste. 300, Chesapeake, Va.
Dr. Blowe received her medical degree from the University of Medicine and Dentistry-New Jersey Medical School in 1985 after receiving her bachelor’s degree in biology from Williams College in Williamstown, Mass., in 1980. She completed her residency in the Riverside Family Practice Residency Program at Riverside Regional Medical Center in Newport News, Va., in 1988. Dr. Blowe is board certified by the American Board of Family Practice.
Since 1998, Dr. Blowe has been serving the local community in private practice. Her areas of interest include sports medicine, family counseling, patient education, preventive care, medical anthropology and nutrition. She is active on many medical committees and boards, and is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians and the Virginia Academy of Family Physicians.
Dr. Blowe was born in Petersburg, Va., and spent five years of her youth in Kenya, East Africa.
