Virginia Beach, VA – November 14, 2008 — Optima Health
has launched its annual enrollment campaign for the Medicare Annual Enrollment Period (November 15-December 31) with a TRICARE For Life product focused on value-added discounts.
Medicare is administered by The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services
(CMS) and is the nation's largest health insurance program, which covers nearly 40 million Americans. Medicare is a Health Insurance Program for people age 65 or older, some disabled people under age 65, and people of all ages with End-Stage Renal Disease (permanent kidney failure treated with dialysis or a transplant). TRICARE For Life
is additional coverage available to active duty service members and retirees of the seven uniformed services, their family members and survivors. While Medicare is the primary insurance, TRICARE acts as a secondary payer minimizing out-of-pocket expenses.
By adding Optima Medicare to TRICARE For Life coverage, individuals will add discounts at no additional cost. Discounts include $2,000 in added discounts for hearing aids and evaluations, vision exams and glasses, chiropractic, massage and acupuncture services. In addition, individuals will receive a free Personal Health Profile, a series of questions about health and lifestyle that creates a customized and comprehensive health risk assessment report that provides information to guide in improving health.
Optima Health offers four comprehensive Medicare plan options, including two $0 premium options. Optima’s Medicare Advantage Plans include options to combine Medicare health coverage and prescription drug coverage in one simple, affordable plan. They also offer more benefits in addition to basic Medicare benefits, such as preventative care, vision, and hearing aid discounts, wellness programs and disease management.
“With such a large retired military community in the state, we’re excited to offer a Medicare option to TRICARE For Life members that provides such great added discounts at no additional cost,” said Michael M. Dudley, president of Optima Health. “We are confident that military retirees will see the benefit of partnering with Optima Health,” Dudley said.
