Gloucester, Va. – Feb. 12, 2008 – Kamani N. Karandana, M.D., is the newest member of
Gloucester Medical Associates, 5659 Parkway Drive, Gloucester, Va., 23601.
Dr. Karandana earned her medical degree from the University of Colombo in Sri Lanka in 1993 after her bachelor of medicine and bachelor of surgery degrees at the University of Colombo. She is a graduate of the Family and Community Medicine Residency Program at Regions Hospital in St. Paul, Minn.
Previously she was an observer in emergency medicine and a research assistant at Oregon Health and Science University School of Medicine in Portland, Ore., and an extern in primary care/internal medicine at a group practice in Eugene, Ore. She completed one year of urology residency at Coney Island Hospital in Brooklyn, NY.
Dr. Karandana is a member of the American Association of Family Practice.
