April 1, 2008 - Norfolk, Virginia - Sentara's Nightingale Regional Air Ambulance will undergo an accreditation process and is seeking public comment.

The Commission of Accreditation of Medical Transport Systems will evaluate the program's compliance with nationally established medical transport standards. The site visit will take place on May 15 and 16.

Results from the visit will determine whether the Nightingale program receives accreditation.

Patient care and safety of the transport environment are factors in the accreditation standards. Anyone who has pertinent information about these matters may request an interview with the CAMTS site surveyors during the May visit.

Information presented at the interview will be evaluated carefully for relevance to the accreditation process.

Requests for interviews must be made in writing no later than five business days before the site survey.

Please mail these requests to:

Office of the Executive Director
Commission on Accreditation of Medical Transport Systems
P.O. Box 1305
Anderson, SC 29622

Requests should indicate the nature of the information to be provided during the interview.

Those requesting an interview will be notified of the date, time and place of the meeting after the request is reviewed.

This notice must be posted in accordance with the CAMTS requirements and may not be removed until the site visit is completed.
