Norfolk, Virginia - At 6 p.m. on Wednesday, March 25, experienced surgeons at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital will show via webcast the laparoscopic procedure for removing a kidney from a healthy donor to transplant into a person suffering from kidney disease.
Over 1700 kidney transplants have been performed at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital, where the kidney program is ranked among the top 50 hospitals in the nation by U.S. News & World Report.
A new audience, this one on the social microblogging tool Twitter, will also be welcomed into this webcast, which will be "Twittered" live. Twitter enables its users to send and read other users' updates, which are text-based posts of up to 140 characters in length.
