Run (or Walk) in the New Year’s Day 5K in Memory of Denise Suits

December 22, 2009 – Hampton, VA – Run or walk in this Peninsula 5K race to fight cancer New Year’s Day 2010. Hundreds of runners including friends, family or cancer survivors themselves will participate in the 15th annual New Year’s Day 5 K in memory of Denise Suits, who lost her battle with colon cancer in 1996.
The race starts and ends at Sentara Center for Health and Fitness, 4001 Coliseum Dr. in Hampton, Virginia with a course that takes in the sights of Coliseum Central.
Racers can register in advance online or sign up the day of the race. Race packets are available at the fitness center Dec. 31 and at the event. Prior to December 23, registration is $15. After December 23 and the day of the event, registration is $20. Registration fees benefit the American Cancer Society.
