Norfolk VAOctober 6, 2009 – Dr. Shelagh Gleeson has joined Sentara Pulmonary & Critical Care Specialists, a specialty practice of Sentara Medical Group. Sentara Pulmonary and Critical Care Specialists offer a comprehensive range of services for the diagnosis and treatment of sleep disorders and diseases of the lungs and respiratory system including—asthma, emphysema, pneumonia, malignancy and pleural effusion. Her practice is located at the NDC Medical Center & Urgent Care at 850 Kempsville Road in Norfolk.

Dr. Gleeson earned her medical degree from St. George’s University School of Medicine. She completed her internship and residency in internal medicine at Norwalk Hospital, affiliated with Yale University in Norwalk, Connecticut. In addition, she completed fellowships in pulmonary medicine at Norwalk Hospital, critical care medicine at Yale New Haven Medical Center and sleep medicine at Norwalk Hospital.

Dr. Gleeson is board certified in internal medicine, critical care medicine and pulmonary diseases by the American Board of Internal Medicine. She holds membership in the American College of Chest Physicians, the Society of Critical Care Medicine and the American Academy of Sleep Medicine.
