
Norfolk, VA (Apr 2010) – At its recent annual conference, the American Medical Group Association appointed Dr. Shane H. Peng, vice president and senior medical director with Sentara Medical Group, as the chair-elect of its Quality Leadership Council, effective April 2010. Dr. Peng’s appointment will focus on promoting and monitoring quality initiatives within AMGA.
The AMGA represents some of the nation’s largest, most prestigious medical practices, independent practice associations and integrated healthcare delivery organizations from across the nation. More than 102,0000 physicians practice in AMGA member organizations, providing healthcare services in 49 states to nearly one in three Americans. AMGA’s mission is to improve health care for patients by supporting multispecialty medical groups.
Dr. Peng is board certified in
family practice medicine and brings over 22 years experience as a physician and an executive leader to the
AMGA appointment. He joined
Sentara Medical Group in 2005. In addition to his management responsibilities within Sentara, Dr. Peng serves as chief quality officer of the Sentara Medical Group.
