Hourly Rate Offered By Sentara Adult Day Health Care 

New option offers family caregivers brief respite at lower cost

Virginia Beach, VA (July 7, 2010) – Sentara Adult Day Health Care is now offering an hourly rate as well as a full-day rate for family caregivers. The program is conducted five days per week at Sentara Village in Virginia Beach on Sentara Way off Rosemont Road.

The self-pay full-day program provides morning and evening transportation if needed, socialization, meals and activities. The new hourly rate is $12 versus the full-day rate of $48.
“Some families don’t need a full day every day,” says program director Marti Gnilka. “But participants can enjoy a few hours with their peers now and again while their caregiver tends to other business or just takes a break.”

As more seniors live with their families to avoid or delay institutional care, programs like Sentara Adult Day Health Care fill an increasing need for safe daytime supervision. “This hourly rate will give families a new day care option,” says Gnilka.
