Free February H1N1 Flu Vaccination Clinics
February 2, 2010 –
Hampton, VA – Nurses from
Sentara CarePlex Hospital and
Sentara Port Warwick volunteer their time to vaccinate area residents at free H1N1 flu clinics on the Peninsula.
“This is the first public-private collaboration we’ve been involved with to vaccinate the community,” says S. William Berg, MD, MPH, Hampton Health District Director. “Sentara is helping us quickly offer this important vaccine to the community,” he continues.
H1N1 vaccine at the following flu clinics will be offered free and widely to the community at large.
“Vaccination is the best tool we have for preventing flu. By offering the H1N1 vaccine, we’re helping families protect themselves from this disease,” says Debra Flores, Sentara CarePlex Hospital administrator.
“December is not too late to get vaccinated. The flu season runs through April, and it’s particularly important to protect children under age 18 and pregnant women by vaccinating them,” Berg added.
