Dr. Amare to Practice in Norfolk
Norfolk, VA (August 2011) – Rahel Amare, MD, has joined Sentara Medical Group. With specialized training in the diagnosis, treatment, and management of contagious diseases and a special interest in the treatment of HIV/AIDS, she joins fellow physicians at Sentara Infectious Disease Specialists located on Kempsville Road in Norfolk, VA.
Dr. Amare is board-certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and Infectious Disease and is certified by the American Academy of HIV Medicine. She earned her medical degree from Jimma Institute of Health Sciences in Jimma, Ethiopia, and she completed a fellowship in Infectious Disease at the University of Rochester Medical Center. Dr. Amare spent two years in the Nicholas A. Rango HIV Scholarship and Fellowship Program, which included intensive academic and hands on training in the clinical care and public awareness aspects of HIV/AIDS.
