Program offers full-day, half-day and hourly rates
Chesapeake, VA (November 22, 2011) – Sentara Life Care, the senior services division of Sentara Healthcare, will introduce Senior Day Services at Sentara Village in Chesapeake on Monday, November 28, 2011. A similar program has been in operation for 19 years at Sentara Village in Virginia Beach.
Sentara Senior Day Services offers a choice of full and half day programs and hourly respite services for seniors who live at home with their families. The program includes meals, activities and socialization in a safe environment Monday through Friday from 7:30AM to 5:30PM. Wheelchair-accessible van transportation to the program and back home is available.
The program includes crafts, classes and outings as participants are able and interested. A sampling of activities planned in the first month includes quilting, Spanish and Tai Chi classes, a visit from a children’s choir, swim classes at the YMCA, museum visits and trips to the Smithfield Christmas Store, Whites Nursery Christmas Store, Cracker Barrel and Dollar Tree.
Sentara Senior Day Services is a self-pay program. Rates are as follows:
• Full Day $60
• Half Day $35
• Hourly $12
• Van Transport $4 each way
