Suffolk, VA (December 2012) – Christy Wild, MS, PA-C, has joined Sentara Surgery Specialists in Suffolk, VA.
Ms. Wild earned her Master of Physician Assistant degree at Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk in 2008. She received a Master of Science degree in exercise science and wellness at Old Dominion University in 2001 after receiving her bachelor’s degree in psychology in 1996.
Ms. Wild is highly trained to examine patients, order and interpret laboratory tests and X-rays, diagnose and treat medical conditions, and instruct and counsel patients. She is patient-focused with experience in emergency and internal medicine, as well as pulmonary, critical care and sleep medicine. Ms. Wild has served as a physician assistant to the inmates and staff of Virginia Beach Regional Jail and has previously been part of the Sentara team employed at Sentara Pulmonary, Critical Care & Sleep Specialists. She is trained in the placement of such invasive devises as central venous catheters and arterial catheters, as well as intubation, biopsies and joint aspiration. Ms. Wild works in close collaboration with the surgeons to deliver quality care to patients, both in the hospital and beyond.
Ms. Wild is certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants. In her spare time, she volunteers at the Edmarc Hospice for Children in Portsmouth and enjoys participating in triathlons and running events.
