Clean Out Your Medicine Cabinet and Drop off Unused Prescription Drugs
Newport News, VA (April 24, 2012) – When was the last time you cleaned out your medicine cabinet?
For the safety of the community, Sentara is offering free and convenient locations on the Peninsula at Sentara CarePlex Hospital and Sentara Port Warwick to drop off any unused, unwanted or expired prescription drugs.
When? Saturday, April 28, 2012 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. (rain or shine)

This a free service to the community.
What’s accepted?
Any prescription drugs. No labels or containers or necessary.
What is NOT accepted?
No sharps, aerosols or chemotherapy drugs.
No questions will be asked, just drive up and drop off unwanted prescription drugs at Sentara Port Warwick.
Both Sentara locations will have a convenient drive thru open to all Hampton Roads residents. The purpose for rounding up prescription drugs is to get unwanted drugs out of the reach of children and keep them from being flushed down the drains.
Sentara has partnered with the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) and Newport News Police Department to manage the event.
