Norfolk, VA (March 2012) - Peter A. Sim, MD, has joined Sentara Urgent Care. Primarily based at the Williamsburg location, he will also rotate to sites in Newport News and Gloucester.
Dr. Sim earned his medical degree from the University of Virginia School of Medicine in Charlottesville, and then completed a Family Medicine Residency at Riverside Hospital in Newport News, VA.
Dr. Sim is a highly skilled professional with over 27 years of experience in emergency and family medicine. He served 23 years as the volunteer Operational Medical Director for the City of Newport News, and from 2005-2010 was Medical Director for Victory Junction, a "Hole in the Wall" camp founded by Paul Newman for children with chronic and serious medical conditions.
Dr. Sim is committed to delivering quality, patient-focused care to people of all ages who need medical care quickly. As a dedicated physician, Dr. Sim’s concern for his patients goes beyond the immediate health issues of individuals to their continued well being after they leave his office.
Recognized by his peers, Dr. Sim has received many awards for his service and achievements. He is certified by the American Board of Emergency Medicine and is a member of the American College of Emergency Physicians, the Virginia College of Emergency Physicians, the American Medical Athletic Association and is a founding member of the Healthcare Transition Research Consortium.
