Norfolk, VA (May 2013) – Anil Patel, MD, has joined Sentara Pulmonary & Critical Care Specialists in Norfolk and Virginia Beach, VA.
Dr. Patel earned his medical degree in 1980 from Medical College Baroda in Gujarat, India. Upon moving to the United States in 1980, he completed both his internal medicine residency and fellowship training in pulmonary medicine at Catholic Medical Center of Brooklyn & Queens, NY, in 1985 and 1987, respectively.
As a pulmonary specialist, Dr. Patel has over 25 years of experience in hospital and private practice settings. He is focused on the treatment and management of patients with diseases and conditions of the lungs and chest, including asthma, pneumonia, tuberculosis, lung cancer and emphysema. Disorders may also include hereditary diseases such as autoimmune conditions like pulmonary fibrosis and exposure to toxins and infectious agents like poisonous fumes and asbestos.
Dr. Patel offers a comprehensive range of services and uses the most up-to-date methods and state-of-the-art technology in treating his patients. His ultimate goal is for patients to achieve and maintain a maximum level of independence and function.
Fluent in English, Gujarati and Hindi, Dr. Patel provides his patients with the added benefit of being able to communicate easily in three languages and giving him a clearer understanding of their health issues and concerns.
