Drill Takes Place April 25, from 9 to 11 a.m. at Eastern Virginia Medical Center on Colley Avenue in Norfolk
Norfolk, Virginia (April 19, 2013) – An emergency training drill is set for Thursday, April 25, from 9 to 11 a.m., on the Eastern Virginia Medical Center campus, home to Eastern Virginia Medical School, Children’s Hospital of The King’s Daughters and Sentara Norfolk General Hospital. EVMS is the lead agency for the drill.
The surrounding Colley Avenue community as well as those on the medical center campus may see or hear the activities, sirens and lights of first responders during the drill, which will take place on Children’s Lane.
- The emergency activities on Children’s Lane on April 25, from 9 to 11 am are part of a drill. There is no cause for alarm.
- All EVMS, CHKD and Sentara Norfolk General Hospital services will be fully operational during the exercise.
- All city roadways will be open during the exercise, with the exception of Children’s Lane, which runs parallel to Colley Avenue between Olney Road and Raleigh Avenue.
- Travelers should still use Raleigh Avenue to reach the CHKD Emergency Room.
