Ceremonial Signing Marks Milestone
South Boston, VA (July 16, 2013) - Officials from Halifax Regional Health System and Sentara Healthcare celebrate the completion of their recent merger with a ceremonial signing. A picnic for medical staff, staff, volunteers and guests follows the event.
Effective July 1, 2013, the completed merger represents a milestone for Sentara and Halifax Regional Health System which also marks its 60th anniversary serving the South Boston community.
Halifax Regional Hospital is the 11th hospital in the Sentara Healthcare not-for-profit integrated health system based in Norfolk, Virginia.
“A huge time commitment has been made selecting the right partner. We’re convinced Halifax Regional Health System joining Sentara will yield long term benefits to both organizations and our patients for many years to come,” says Chris A. Lumsden, president of Halifax Regional Health System.
Planning and integration efforts will begin shortly to help ensure a smooth transition between the two organizations.
