Norfolk, VA (March 2013) – Jessica L. Waddell, BSN, CCRN, FNP-C, has joined Sentara Cardiology Specialists in Norfolk, VA.
Ms. Waddell earned her Master of Science in Nursing degree at George Washington University in Washington, DC, in 2012. She completed her undergraduate studies, cum laude, at Bowling Green State University in Bowling Green, OH, and the Medical University of Ohio at Toledo, receiving her Bachelor of Science degree in nursing in 2006. Additionally, in 2006, she received the Outstanding Senior Nursing Student award and the Northwest Ohio Nurses Association Leadership award.
As a nurse practitioner, Ms. Waddell uses her training and skills to provide high quality managed care for acutely and critically ill cardiac patients. She is trained to conduct numerous medical procedures and provide a wide range of diagnostic and management services for patients with heart conditions that include angina, arrhythmias, heart attack, heart disease, heart failure and hypertension. Her dedication to nursing care and emotional support help to create a more calming environment for patients and provide a smoother transition for them and their families through the recovery process and beyond. Ms. Waddell works in close collaboration with the physicians to ensure the best possible experience for patients suffering from cardiac issues.
Ms. Waddell is certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and is a member of the American Association of Critical Care Nurses, the Virginia Council of Nurse Practitioners, and Sigma Theta Tau-Phi Epsilon Chapter.
