Virginia Beach, VA (January 2013) – Kanwarpreet Saini, MD, has joined Sentara Hospital Medicine Physicians in Virginia Beach, VA.
Dr. Saini earned his medical degree from Ross University School of Medicine in Portsmouth, Dominica, West Indies, in 2001 after completing his bachelor’s degree in biological anthropology with a minor in chemistry at CUNY Queens College in Flushing, NY, in 1996. As an undergraduate, he earned special honors, including dean’s list, the National Golden Key Honor Society, the Biology Honor Society and the Anthropology Honor Society.
As a hospitalist, Dr. Saini focuses on the care of patients in the hospital. Experienced in delivering care in hospital settings, he works with all other specialists involved with the patient to ensure continuity of quality care. He may also collaborate with primary care physicians to ensure that same level of care upon the patient's discharge from the hospital and beyond. Dr. Saini’s fluency in English, Hindi and Punjabi enables him to understand the concerns of patients of Indian origin who require a physician who can communicate with them in their native language and accurately convey those concerns to other health providers on his medical team.
Dr. Saini is a member of the American College of Physicians and the American Association of Physicians of Indian Origin. In his spare time, Dr. Saini enjoys working out and spending time with his family which includes two young daughters.
