Elizabeth City, NC (April 2013) – Kimberly M. Crain, RN, MSN, NP-C, has joined Sentara Internal Medicine Physicians in Elizabeth City, NC.
Ms. Crain earned her Master of Science in Nursing degree at Duke University in Durham, NC, in 2012 after receiving her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, VA, in 2008. Previously, she earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology at the University of Massachusetts in Amherst, MA, in 2001.
As a nurse practitioner, Ms. Crain is highly trained to conduct physical exams, order and interpret diagnostic tests, perform health screenings and manage the care of adult patients. She has experience in family and internal medicine, obstetrics and gynecology and pediatric care in the family practice setting. Ms. Crain has served as a nurse in the intensive care setting providing cardiac and mental health care, as well as coordinating care for patients with tuberculosis. She places great value in educating patients about preventative care and wellness and she works in close collaboration with the physicians at Sentara Internal Medicine Physicians to keep her patients in the best possible health long after they leave the office.
Ms. Crain is board-certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.
