
Chesapeake, VA (February 2013) – Mary E. Corley, NP, has joined Sentara Family Medicine Physicians in Chesapeake, VA.
Ms. Corley earned her Master of Science in Nursing degree at the University of Pittsburgh School of Nursing in Pittsburgh, PA, in 2009 after receiving her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree at Waynesburg College in Waynesburg, PA, in 2006. Ms. Corley began her nursing studies in 1976 at Lander College in Greenwood, SC, where she earned an Associate of Arts in Nursing degree in 1976.
As a nurse practitioner, Ms. Corley is highly trained in the management of patients of all ages with sudden onset and chronic illnesses. Her professional experience includes over 35 years in primary care, clinical and hospital settings. She is experienced in conducting physical exams, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests and evaluations, caring for the chronically ill, performing health screenings and developing care plans. Ms. Corley places great value in educating patients about preventative care and wellness. She works in collaboration with the physicians to keep patients in the best possible health long after they leave the office.
Ms. Corley is board-certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center. Additionally, she is a member of the American College of Nurse Practitioners and the Nu Sigma Chapter of the nursing honor society of Sigma Theta Tau International.
