Suffolk, VA (March 2013) – Monica Mason, FNP-BC, has joined Sentara Cardiology Specialists in Suffolk, VA.

Ms. Mason earned her master of science in nursing degree at Syracuse University in Syracuse, NY, in 2002 after receiving her bachelor of science in nursing degree, cum laude, at the University of Charleston in Charleston, WV, in 1997.
As a skilled nurse practitioner with over 16 years of experience in cardiac services, Ms. Mason provides cardiac care to both inpatients and outpatients. She is highly trained to supervise non-invasive cardiac stress testing to include nuclear medicine and stress echo studies. Ms. Mason has also assisted in developing policies and procedures for non-invasive cardiology labs.
Previously, she served as a nurse in post-open heart recovery units and coronary intensive care units. Ms. Mason provides cardiac services to the emergency department in support of the Chest Pain Observation Program. She works diligently with the cardiologists at Sentara Cardiology Specialists to provide the best possible cardiac care.
Ms. Mason serves on many hospital committees and is board-certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center. She is also a member of the Sigma Theta Tau Honor Society-Omicron Chapter and the American College of Cardiology.
