Norfolk, VA (July 2013) – Nauman Naseer, MD, FACC, FACP, FSCAI, has joined Sentara Cardiology Specialists in Norfolk.
Dr. Naseer earned his medical degree at King Edward Medical College in Lahore, Pakistan in 1998. He completed his internship and residency in internal medicine at Westchester Medical Center, the University Hospital of New York Medical College, Valhalla.
As a senior resident, he received the award for the most outstanding physician among his peers. He served as chief medical resident and assistant professor of medicine at the same institution, receiving several honors and awards from the New York Medical College and the American College of Physicians. He completed his cardiology fellowship and continued his interventional cardiology fellowship training at the Hospital of University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia.
Dr. Naseer has had the experience of working in top-ranked cardiac centers. He has been a contributing author for several well-known medical textbooks and research articles and currently serves as an assistant professor at Eastern Virginia Medical School. As one of the few physicians in the region with five board certifications, his specialty includes clinical cardiology, non-invasive imaging and interventions (coronary, structural and peripheral). He is a fellow of the American College of Physicians, American College of Cardiology and the Society of Cardiovascular Angiography and Intervention and was recently recognized among the top doctors by US News and World Report.
In his spare time, Dr. Naseer enjoys reading, movies, swimming and travel.
