Hampton, VA (December 2013) – Leanne Minnick, MPAS, PA-C, joined Sentara Hospital Medicine Physicians at Sentara CarePlex Hospital in Hampton.
Trained as a Red Cross First Responder, Leanne Minnick, MPAS, PA-C, received a Bachelor of Science degree in biology, magna cum laude, from Charleston Southern University in Charleston, SC. She went on to earn a Master of Physician Assistant Studies degree, summa cum laude, from East Carolina University in Greenville, NC, in 2011, where she received the Outstanding Graduate Student Award and served as the vice president of the ECU physician assistant class.
As a physician assistant, Ms. Minnick is trained to examine patients, order and interpret laboratory tests and X-rays, diagnose and treat medical conditions, and instruct and counsel patients. Previously, she served at a hospital in North Carolina, evaluating and treating patients, performing preoperative evaluations and educating and supporting patients throughout their stay. Now, as a member of the team at Sentara Hospital Medicine Physicians, Ms. Minnick works to provide the highest quality care during a patient’s stay in the hospital.
Ms. Minnick is certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants, is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and the Virginia Academy of Physician Assistants.
