
Virginia Beach, VA (February 2013) – Phillip Granger, PA-C, has joined Sentara Neurology Specialists in Virginia Beach, VA.
Mr. Granger earned his Master of Physician Assistant Studies degree at the University of Nebraska College of Medicine in Omaha, NE, in 1998. He received his Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Nebraska College of Medicine in 1992 and, in the same year, was an honor graduate of the physician assistant training program in the 3790 Medical Service Training Wing of the United State Air Force.
Retired from the U.S. Air Force, Mr. Granger has over 30 years of experience in the medical field including 20 years as a physician assistant. He has experience working in emergency, urgent care, hospital and family medicine settings, as well as serving as a medical team officer in the US Air Force. As an extremely active member of the medical community, Mr. Granger has served as a director of many health programs such as Smoking Cessation and Clinical Quality Improvement Programs. He is highly trained to conduct physical exams, order and interpret laboratory tests and X-rays, diagnose and treat numerous medical conditions, prescribe medications and assist in surgeries. Mr. Granger also counsels patients and stresses the importance of including a preventive medical care plan as part of their daily health maintenance routine.
Mr. Granger is board-certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants and a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants.
