Virginia Beach, VA (May 2013) – Ravinder Mohan, MD, PhD, has joined Sentara Family Medicine Physicians in Virginia Beach, VA.
Dr. Mohan earned his medical degree from J.N. Medical College in Aligarh, India, in 1980 and then completed general surgery training at the Institute of Medical Sciences in Varanasi, India, in 1983 and at a hospital affiliated to Delhi University.
He went on to earn certification as a cardiac surgeon at the University of Antwerp in Antwerp, Belgium, in 1991, where he also earned a PhD degree in cardiac surgery in 1994. Dr. Mohan then did an international surgical fellowship in cardiovascular surgery in Portland, OR. He completed residency training in family medicine at UPMC McKeepsport in Pittsburgh, PA, in affiliation with the University of Pittsburgh in 1999.
Dr. Mohan’s medical experience includes providing a comprehensive range of primary and subspecialty health care services for patients of all ages. His focus is on applying his medical skills to improve the health and well-being of each of his patients. Dr. Mohan is committed to the welfare of his patients and partners with them in maintaining their own quality of health after they leave his office.
Dr. Mohan is board-certified in family medicine. He has been an associate professor on the clinical teaching faculty at Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, VA, since 1999 and was a hospitalist at Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital before joining the team at Sentara Family Medicine Physicians.
