Williamsburg, VA (May 2013) – Robin Olsen, MD, has joined Sentara Hospital Medicine Physicians in Williamsburg, VA.
Dr. Olsen completed her medical degree at Virginia Commonwealth University-MCV Campus in Richmond, VA, in 2005 where she also received a Master of Public Health degree in 2001. Additionally, Dr. Olsen earned a Master of Science in Health Evaluation Sciences-Epidemiology at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, VA, in 2001 and a bachelor’s degree in biochemistry at Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, VA in 1999. While completing her internship and residency in the Carilion Clinic Family Medicine Residency Program, she served as chief resident and house staff vice president from 2007-2008. Dr. Olsen also earned a faculty development fellowship at Carilion Clinic in 2009.
As a hospitalist, Dr. Olsen focuses on the care of patients in the hospital. Trained in family medicine and experienced in delivering care in hospital settings, she works with all other specialists involved with the patient to ensure continuity of quality care. Dr. Olsen collaborates with primary care physicians to ensure quality care upon the patient's discharge from the hospital and beyond.
Dr. Olsen’s experience includes serving as a faculty member and medical director for outpatient hospice care at Carilion Clinic Hospice-Roanoke. She is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians, the Society of Teachers in Family Medicine, the Virginia Academy of Family Physicians and the American College of Physician Executives.
