—Live Event February 13 from 6 to 8 p.m.—
Physicians from around the globe will be watching a surgery LIVE February 13 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Orthopedic surgeon James Dowd, M.D. will be operating on a patient at Sentara Leigh Hospital during the broadcast to show how to replace worn parts of a knee replacement. This surgery is known as knee revision surgery.
Each year about 45,000 revision knee replacement surgeries are performed in the U.S. New advanced technologies in orthopedics have made this a safe and effective way to restore the function of joints without replacing the entire joint.
Physicians can sign up to watch this surgery and send questions in during the live surgery broadcast.
