Virginia Beach, VA (January 2013) – Tracy L. Leonard, has joined Sentara Walk-In Primary Care in Virginia Beach, VA.
Ms. Leonard earned a Master of Physician Assistant Studies degree at Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, VA, in 2006 after receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in biology at Old Dominion University in Norfolk in 2001. While there, she served as an EMT for the Virginia Beach Volunteer Rescue Squad.
As a physician assistant, Ms. Leonard is trained to provide medical management of acute and chronic conditions for patients of all ages in primary care and urgent care settings. Previously, she worked in internal medicine and at a naval medical center performing health evaluations on military members focusing on preventative medicine, determination of deployable status and post-deployment and mental health assessments. Ms. Leonard examines patients, orders and interprets laboratory tests and X-rays, and diagnoses and treats medical conditions. She works with physicians and her patients’ families to ensure the best possible treatment and follow-up care.
Ms. Leonard is certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA). She enjoys educating patients, families and the general public on the nature of disease, proper care and treatment.
