VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (January 2014) – Leslie Kryzanowski, MD, joined Sentara Behavioral Health Specialists in Virginia Beach, Va.
The Sentara Behavioral Health Services inpatient center at Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital (opened in December 2013) has expanded their team with the arrival of Dr. Kryzanowski.
Dr. Kryzanowski earned her medical degree from the University of Puerto Rico in Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico, in 1984. She completed her combined psychiatry internship and residency at Virginia Commonwealth University-Medical College of Virginia (VCU-MCV) in Richmond, Va., in 1988, followed by a geriatric psychiatry fellowship in 1989 at VCU-MCV.
Dr. Kryzanowski was a partner for fifteen years at the Tucker Psychiatric Clinic, in Richmond, Va., where she cared for inpatients and individuals in an outpatient setting. She also performed electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) and served several hospitals in the area by providing consultations and other psychiatric liaison services. For the last five years, Dr. Kryzanowski worked as an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry for VCU-MCV at the Hunter Holmes McGuire VA Medical Center, in Richmond, Va. She has experience in psychotherapy, geriatric psychiatry, anxiety disorders and personality disorders.
Dr. Kryzanowski is board-certified in psychiatry and neurology. Over time she has been a member of the American Psychiatric Association, the American Medical Association, the Virginia Psychiatric Society, the Medical Society of Virginia, and the Richmond Psychiatric Society (as President during 2002-2003). In her free time, Dr. Kryzanowski is an avid tennis player and enjoys being close to the ocean.
