Norfolk, VA (July 2014) – Walter Vest, MD, joined Sentara Hospital Medicine Physicians at Sentara Leigh Hospital in Norfolk, VA. Part of Dr. Vest’s delivery of quality care includes his great sense of humor. He takes pride in building the morale wherever he goes and sees humor as a great tool to help connect with patients and families during a stressful time.
Dr. Vest earned his medical degree at the Medical College of Virginia, Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, VA, in 1990. He earned his bachelor degree at Harvard College in Cambridge, MA, in 1980.
Dr. Vest went on to Saint Joseph Hospital in Denver, CO, where he completed his internship in 1991 and his residency in 1994 (1993-1994 as Chief Resident). In 2005, Dr. Vest earned a Certificate in Business Administration for Physicians at the Southern Medical Association in conjunction with Auburn University College of Business & Engineering.
As a hospitalist, Dr. Vest focuses on the care of patients in the hospital. Trained in internal medicine and experienced in delivering care in hospital settings, he works with all other specialists involved with the patient to ensure continuity of quality care.
Dr. Vest is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and is licensed by the states of Virginia and Colorado.
