Norfolk, Va. – Sentara Healthcare is pleased to announce Kenneth W. Wood as the Interim President of Albemarle Health effective March 1, 2014. As Interim President, Mr. Wood will oversee the day-to-day operations of Albemarle Health.
Mr. Wood, a seasoned healthcare executive, brings with him more than 40 years of healthcare experience. Throughout his career, Mr. Wood has served as CEO of four major teaching hospitals, a healthcare system and a community hospital. He most recently served for 12 years as President and CEO of Blue Ridge Healthcare in Morganton, N.C., which is affiliated with Carolinas Healthcare System. He has an MBA with a major in Hospital Administration from George Washington University in Washington, D.C. and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Mars Hill University in Mars Hill, N.C. Mr. Wood will reside in Elizabeth City during his term as interim president.

Mr. Wood is married and has three children and seven grandchildren. He enjoys traveling and golf in his spare time.
Jan King Robinson, the current Interim President of Albemarle Health, will work alongside Mr. Wood, serving as Vice President of Operations for Albemarle Health.
